STIHL MS 462 recall

STIHL MS 462 chainsaw

STIHL has detected abnormalities in a lever which has been installed in some MS 462 chainsaws. Following investigations it has not been possible to rule out the chance that these abnormalities could affect the trigger sensitivity of the automatic chain brake.

This could lead to an increased risk of injury to the user in the event of kickback.

As a responsible manufacturer, STIHL has decided to recall the potentially affected machines and to replace the lever.

Certain machines in two definable machine number ranges are affected.

Machine number range 1:    190996183 to 191007172
Machine number range 2:    191027366 to 191027557

If you have a MS 462 chainsaw from the machine number ranges stated above, please stop using the device immediately.

Please contact your STIHL dealer about replacing the lever. This repair is free of charge for you.
