The STIHL iMOW® robotic mowers mow your lawn fully automatically, take on slopes of up to 40 % and 45 % on the EVO models and recharge themselves automatically. Due to the cutting height adjustment and disc-cut mowing system, the smart lawn mowers always provide a precise mowing result.

Adjusting the iMOW® to a precise grass length is very simple and possible in several stages:
- On all iMOW® EVO models and all iMOW models from series 5 onwards, you can adjust the cutting height electrically via the MY iMOW® app.
- On the iMOW® 3 and iMOW® 4 models, you can adjust the cutting height manually using a rotary knob directly on the device.
The STIHL iMOW® easily masters gradients up to 45%, adjusting its mowing speed in the process. So even hilly areas are no problem for the robotic mower. With the upgrade kit, the iMOW® EVO can tackle gradients as high as 60%.
Every STIHL iMOW® has a lithium-ion battery with smart charge management on board as an energy source. This feature means the iMOW® can charge its battery very quickly when it needs to rapidly resume an ongoing mowing process; during periods outside mowing plan activity, the battery is automatically charged slowly and gently.

The iMOW® models can also be connected to smart home devices, enabling convenient operation via voice control.
The new-generation iMOW® is equipped with a rain sensor that can interrupt the current mowing process until the rain passes.
The iMOW® operates at a maximum volume of 61 dB (A), so it won’t disturb you when you are spending time in the garden.
All models of the new iMOW® generation have an LED strip in the control panel. All iMOW® EVO models and all iMOW® models from series 5 onwards are also equipped with an LED strip on the front that indicates the status of the device. The iMOW® EVO models from series 5 onwards also have a matrix display with animated symbols to make communication even easier.

The MY iMOW® app makes your iMOW® robot mower even smarter. Using the STIHL MY iMOW® app, you can individually set the mowing duration wherever you are, and create an agile mowing plan. You always have an overview of maintenance information, performance data and other important functions of the robotic mower in real time.
For greater flexibility, the mowing plan can be individually adapted to seasonal growth phases. You can also use the app to view current weather forecasts and respond to these during active periods.
The iMOW® robotic mowers are equipped with numerous sensors that detect if the iMOW® is picked up, and immediately trigger an alarm. In addition to carrying detection, the new iMOW® models also have another feature: when the function is activated via the app, the iMOW® robotic mower is blocked as soon as the power tool is outside its defined home area. You will also be able to access information about the mowing performance of your iMOW® robotic mower. The STIHL iMOW® app is available for Android and iOS smartphones, and also as a web app for your computer.
iMOW® and iMOW® EVO models can be connected to smart home devices such as Amazon Alexa, and then conveniently operated via voice control.
The iMOW® generation offers connectivity via wi-fi and Bluetooth®. In the iMOW® EVO series, this is further expanded with additional mobile network connection.

Installing the iMOW® yourself
If you want to install the iMOW® yourself, our article includes short videos with the corresponding instructions. You will need boundary wire and fixing nails for installation. It is even possible to install the iMOW® robotic mower on lawns of less than 100 m². We offer the AKM 100 small-area module for this purpose.

Questions and answers
The iMOW® robotic mower is suitable for small, medium-sized and large lawns, and can cover up to approximately 5,000 m² depending on the power tool type and lawn condition. If your lawn is awkwardly shaped, your specialist dealer will be happy to look at the area and find the best solution for you.
The iMOW® robotic mower is a mulching mower and does not require a grass collection box. While it mows, it simultaneously shreds the grass clippings into small pieces with its mulching blade. This shredded material is distributed in the turf as a biological fertiliser, to support your lawn to grow greener and more densely.
Contact an authorised STIHL dealer in your area for personal advice. Once you have chosen the right iMOW® robotic mower model, you can create a specialised plan for the area to be mowed. An experienced person will also be happy to help you set up the boundary wire and site the docking station in an ideal position. The expert can then work with you to program all the settings on the iMOW® and get it ready to go.
The iMOW® robotic mower automatically creates the right mowing plan for optimal lawn quality. You can of course adapt this mowing plan to your preferences, and specify when the iMOW® robotic mower should mow for example. The iMOW® robotic mower then automatically executes the individual mowing plan.
Bushes, beds, trees and other solid objects in the garden can be delineated with boundary wire from the outset. If the iMOW® encounters an unexpected obstacle, such as a garden chair, it will detect this by means of sensors under its hood, slow down its speed and gently bump into the obstacle.
iMOW® robotic mowers are equipped with various sensors. As soon as someone tries to lift the unit, it will stop.
Low edges that can be walked on (such as ground-level paving or paths) are integrated by the boundary wire in such a way that the iMOW® robotic mower cuts the lawn edge cleanly and fully. For hard edges (e.g. walls or tall terrace paving), the iMOW® robotic lawnmower is installed so that it runs as close to the edge as possible.
